About Us
Quote to ponder:

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit.”
                    Aristotle, Greek philosopher

From Generation to Generation

Life is busy and some days are so hectic and challenging that we wonder how to get everything done. Often it is the unexpected and the things that challenge us the most, that bring us the most joy and fulfillment, as well as teach us what we can do and what we are made of.

For both Trisha and I, growing up with eight siblings - we were our own reality show before they were popular. With so many needs to be met, creativity was often the solution and to a growing child, it was magical and inspirational to watch. We watched (and still watch) our Mom apply the skills she learned from her mother and grandmother. Today, all nine of us are encouraged to pass on the lessons we learned as children to our children (and now our grandchildren), and continue to learn and challenge ourselves, and cherish each day.

Two Sisters, Two Paths, One Passion

Johnell - As the oldest of nine, I quickly learned the no matter how much you planned, things happened that were outside of your control. Raising my children, I enjoyed watching them learn new things, as well as teaching them that with the right tools, you can do anything.

While raising my family, I spent time in the corporate world, and took 25 years to complete my undergraduate and Master's Degree . During that time, I had the opportunity to work with Trisha and run a family-owned business selling Weight-Mate™ Pattern Weights, which our Mom developed and patented in 1971. I used what I learned and opened a specialty craft shop, called BoSew Accents, which specializing in wearable art and jewelry making. I designed a line of wearable clothing, as well as designed jewelry, taught classes, and put on an annual fashion show that let everyone show off what they had created.

I enjoy designing and teaching others to do things they did not think were possible. I am always looking for tools and techniques to share with others to help simplify the process and allow them to create beautiful jewelry. I also love blending color and new techniques to see what I can create and to push the limits.

I currently live in Phoenix with my husband of over 30 years. We have two sons, one in the Air Force, and one who lives very close with his wife and our granddaughter.

Trisha - As number seven, Trisha also took a different path. Unsure of what she wanted to do, she began a seven-year trek through college. She settled in the field of art. After college, she took a job in retail sales, but realized something was missing. She went back to school and received her elementary teaching credential. She started teaching, and returned to school one final time to get her Master's Degree in Educational Administration.

Trisha also enjoys designing, as well as working with children. Everyday, she shares her creative passion with both children and adults.

Trisha currently lives in Palm Springs with her husband and daughter. Her son is away at college.

No matter how hard we have tried, we both keep returning to our creative roots. We enjoy sharing ideas and trying new things.
